Location
A9 at Lynebeg.
Description
Both lanes of the A9 will be temporarily realigned at Lynebeg. This is required to allow for the construction of a new underpass at Lynebeg, and the realignment will remain in place until the completion of this underpass in approximately Autumn 2027.
The existing access junction to Lynebeg will also be closed from 15 August, with a new temporary junction for Lynebeg residents off the A9 slightly further north also becoming operational on that date. This will be clearly signposted.
Diversion of NMU route
As part of this realignment, we will also be temporarily diverting a section of the non-motorised user (NMU) route at Lynebeg. This diversion will begin on the existing path at Lynebeg and follow the route of a new temporary road for construction traffic. It will cross the construction vehicle road and subsequently the realigned A9, before taking users to Moy via the rail bridge at Lynebeg junction. To ensure the safety of all users utilising this crossing, timber zig zag crossings will be used on the NMU route at the approach to the crossing of the A9 to ensure that cyclist users, in particular, are slowed on approach.
Date and time:
From 15 August until approximately Autumn 2027.
