Overnight traffic management on A9 Tomatin to Moy 13 April 2026

A9 Dualling: Tay Crossing to Ballinluig - temporary roundabout from 1 May 2026

Temporary traffic management measures are planned for the A9 between Jubilee Bridge and Ballinluig to facilitate construction of a temporary roundabout on the A9 at Kindallachan.

Once operational, the temporary roundabout is intended to help manage the safe flow of traffic on the A9 during construction of the dual carriageway between Tay Crossing and Ballinluig, including providing local access to Kindallachan and facilitating access and egress of construction traffic to and from the main site compound.

Temporary roundabout

It is anticipated that the new temporary roundabout on the A9 at Kindallachan will become operational on Friday 1 May at which point all A9 road users will pass through it. A reduced speed restriction of 30mph will be implemented on approach to and from the roundabout.

All road users are encouraged to be aware of changing road layouts, signage and access arrangements in the Kindallachan area in the coming weeks and to approach the area with care.

Bus stop changes

The southbound bus stop at Kindallachan will be temporarily moved from Friday 10 April during these works to slightly north of its existing location. Pedestrian access to the bus stop will be maintained and signage will be in place to direct users to the relocated bus stop.

Pedestrian and emergency access

Pedestrian and emergency access will be maintained at all times. A pelican crossing will be installed at the temporary roundabout to allow safe crossing of the access/egress for the site compound which will connect to the temporary roundabout.

Road users are asked to approach the area with care and allow extra time for their journeys while these works are carried out. For live updates, please refer to the Traffic Scotland website.
