A9 Tomatin to Moy - Overnight temporary traffic signals on A9 between Moy Rail Bridge and B815 junction

Location

Various locations between the Moy Rail Bridge and the start of the existing dual carriageway approximately 1.5 miles south of the B815 junction to Fort Augustus.

Description

Temporary traffic signals will be implemented on the A9 at various locations on the work area overnight. Both lanes of traffic will remain in operation and to minimise delays as much as possible, traffic signals will only be operational at one location in this area at any given time.

We anticipate nearby residents will experience an increase in noise levels while these works are undertaken, as well as feeling some vibration while the piles are installed. To minimise disruption and keep noise levels as low as possible, we will use a vibratory hammer to drive the piles as opposed to impact driving. These works have been subject to consultation with The Highland Council and their Environmental Services Team before commencement.

Date and time:

The traffic signals will be in place for approximately 5 weeks from Monday 6th October 2025 between the hours of 19:30 – 06:00. There will be no work carried out on Saturday nights or Sunday nights, work will commence at 19:30 on Monday evenings, finishing at 6:00 on Saturday mornings.
